Craft Meet Up sessions for Sashiko and Tsumami

Craft Meet Up sessions for Sashiko and Tsumami

Unic DIY in Chatswood is now running social crafting sessions for fans of Tsumami or Sashiko

For a low cost for each visit, they will provide the space to relax, create, and connect with others who share a love for textile art. While our instructor will be present to offer guidance, this is not a structured class — there will be no formal teaching. Just a supportive space for crafting, chatting, and enjoying the mindful process of making.

Please note: Basic skills in either Tsumami or Sashiko are required to attend.

Tsumami is the delicate art of folding small squares of fabric (often silk) to create intricate flowers and ornaments.
Sashiko is a centuries-old Japanese embroidery technique, featuring simple yet striking geometric patterns stitched by hand.

Bring your own materials and tools or purchase starter kits from us on the day.

In our social group, you can:

  • Work on your own Tsumami or Sashiko projects

  • Learn new techniques from others

  • Share tips, ideas, and inspiration

  • Enjoy a welcoming social group
