Japanese Cooking Workshops in Sydney
The Culinary Studio Dekura is located in Chatswood, on Sydney's north side. The studio is run by Hideo Dekura, who is an author of Japanese cooking books and instructor of Japanese cooking. The studio allows around 10 people to learn cooking and dining in a cosy environment.
They provide a variety of Japanese experiences through our cooking classes. They run classes especially for kids in the school holidays and also run corporate events and provide classes on request.
Ramen Noodle and Tonkotsu Soup Cooking Class
Learn how to prepare the popular ramen noodle soup in a fun and hands-on class. Our experienced chef will guide you step by step so you can prepare your own ramen in the simplest way at home.
Everything is provided in this class, which is perfect for beginners. You will learn how to prepare とんこつTonkotsu (pork broth), how to make handmade ramen noodles from flour, how to cook them to perfection, and how to serve up your ramen with delicious toppings.
You will be able to customise your ramen with the toppings of your choice and then enjoy your own ramen noodle soup in the company of your new friends!

Beginner's Sushi Making Class
If you love sushi, learn how to make your own sushi at home in this beginner's workshop.
Our classes are held in a friendly environment where your experienced teacher will guide you step by step through preparing traditional sushi. Learn how to make sushi rice, how to roll sushi, and how to present it artfully. You'll be working with the freshest ingredients and using all the right utensils.
