About the Artist
Oka Rieko was born in Hokkaido in 1981 and graduated from Hokkaido Tokai University in 2003. Influenced by William Morris’ Willow Boughs, she began creating unique textile patterns suited for life in northern Japan.
In 2008, she founded Dot and Line Pattern Manufacturing, opening a physical store in Sapporo in 2014. Her book Ten to Sen’s Pattern Creation was reissued in 2017.
